DCPsych Director of Studies
This is a Senior Management Post for a Counselling Psychologist/Psychotherapist with a doctoral level qualification and significant research, management and teaching experience. The applicant will need to have extensive knowledge of research methodologies, with a particular emphasis on qualitative research. Commitment would be for two to three days per week based on flexible working times.
The post-holder will report to the DCPsych Senior Director of Studies/Programme Leader and will offer generic research based support to the DCPsych staff team and candidates on the DCPsych programme. It may also involve providing research support to other Metanoia Institute doctoral programmes. The applicant will need to have a solid presence and a particular interest in a reflexive stance within a practitioner doctorate that integrates research and clinical practice. A good knowledge of higher education processes, and the place of creativity within these, would also be important attributes, as would the ability and interest for engaging in an interpersonal and collaborative culture within the DCPsych team.
Teaching duties involve a half-day Research Module over ten Fridays of the academic year, with some additional teaching as necessary. The applicant will also provide research supervision for a number of DCPsych candidates.
