Moodle @ Metanoia Institute
Metanoia Institute introduced Moodle in September 2016, to help co-ordinate the administrative, teaching and learning processes, which form a major part of the business front-end, interfaced by staff and students.
Moodle is utilized by many educational institutions, as a Course or Learning Management System (CMS/LMS), Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) platform, intranet and portal, which can be accessed via the internet, by staff and students. Online accessibility to Moodle course pages, means that learners with mobile devices can remain informed, connected, and current with the latest updates published.
The Moodle portal supports internal access from Metanoia Institute's premises, via wifi and external access via the internet, from distant/offsite locations, ie. home, work, etc. Metanoia Institute’s Moodle portal can be accessed via the institute’s website, www.metanoia.ac.uk. To gain authorized access to the contents of the Moodle Portal, you must be given a Moodle Username and Password by the System Administrator or an Academic Co-ordinator. Once the easy login process is completed, a user will be presented with their active profile and dashboard. The dashboard will facilitate your means to navigating the Moodle screens/pages.
To Access Moodle:
● Click the ‘Moodle Login’ button on the Metanoia website homepage or go to moodle.metanoia.ac.uk.
● Click the ‘LOG IN’ button on the top right corner of the screen
● Enter your details as follows:
● Your username is: your Metanoia email address
● Your password is: Pa55w0rd! (Note: please type a Zero and not letter O, after the w.)
Please Note: When you log in for the first time you’ll be asked to change your password.
We recommend that you change it to the password you use for your Metanoia email.
(Note: Password must have at least 8 characters, 1 digit, 1 lower case letter, 1 upper case letter, 1 non-alphanumeric character such as *, -, or #);
Students will be especially interested in their course pages, to find course information, lessons devised by tutors, assignments and to submit work for marking, in most instances. Moodle is intuitive and it won’t be long before you get to grips with “clicking your way through” the facilities provided such as Forums, Announcements, Presentations, Chatrooms and so much more…
Support staff are in the process of creating a helpful user guide to assist with navigating the MI Moodle System, which will soon be made available to staff and students... We welcome you to Metanoia Institute and hope that you will find Moodle useful, in helping you to manage your progress on the course.
