Student Support Staff and Services

There are a number of different people working behind the scenes to ensure that you receive maximum support for your studies.

As well as a dedicated Programme Leader, each course has its own Academic Coordinator who is the first point of call for all administrative requests and whose responsibilities includes the full range of administrative services that you would expect from an administrator. These include providing academic information, maintaining student records; assisting with student enrolment; amendments to registration; timetables and room bookings; graduation lists.

The administrative team is overseen by a Registrar whose role includes the overall management of student records pertaining to the full student journey. The registrar also oversees student ID cards, NUS extra, the signing of DSA applications, coordinator for student complaints, data protection. There is an Executive officer whose roles includes acting as a link to the professional bodies that accredit our courses, such as United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP). There are a Finance officer and Finance team whose responsibilities include overseeing all financial arrangements pertaining to your studies. For more information, see the section entitled ‘Money, fees and student finance’. Sonia can be contacted at sonia.teague@metanoia.ac.uk.

 

 

There is a Disability Support Officer whose role involves supporting students with disabilities during their studies, including, where appropriate applying for Disability Support Allowance. There is a dedicated Safeguarding Officer who is there to support any users of Metanoia Institute where there are particular safeguarding concerns. For full details of this policy see the Equality and Diversity Section. Di can be contacted at diane.hodgson@metanoia.ac.uk

 

There is a Student Liaison Officer whose role involves supporting students in all aspects of college life, including organising and developing student support groups, such as LGBT+ and BME groups. Appointment pending.

There are two clinical placements and development officers (Lia on Lia.foa@metanoia.ac.uk and Malgorzata on malgorzata.milewicz@metanoia.ac.uk) whose role involves developing links and counselling placements opportunities for our counselling and psychotherapy students.
