Biography
Lucy is a Primary Tutor Diploma Year 2 on the Gestalt psychotherapy training at Metanoia Institute, a role she is absolutely passionate about. She also teaches on the Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Skills and Studies for the institute and examines for the Gestalt and Humanistic departments. Lucy qualified as a Gestalt psychotherapist in 2015 and has worked as a group facilitator for over 15 years. Before her psychotherapy training Lucy worked for the then London Probation Service, delivering CBT-based psychoeducational groups for people involved in the criminal justice system, and later training staff to deliver groups in prisons and in the community.
Lucy developed and delivers a therapeutic weaving group for a women’s centre supporting survivors of sexual violence, and will shortly be involved in research exploring the effectiveness of this intervention for women experiencing post-traumatic stress and anxiety.
Lucy has written blogs and articles for UKCP and occasionally writes book reviews for the Times Literary Supplement. She has a young family and whenever she has a spare moment can be found enjoying making fibre art and textiles, and gardening.
