Academic Director

Metanoia Institute is the leading provider of fully accredited higher education in psychotherapy and counselling. Metanoia Institute develops the next generation of professional counsellors and psychotherapists and provides placement opportunities and community engagement through the Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (MCPS), a low-cost clinic. The Institute is registered with the OfS and is currently in the process of obtaining Degree Awarding Powers in its own right. The vision of Metanoia Institute is to be fully acknowledged as the sector leader in this specialist area; to be achieved through excellence in student experience, student satisfaction, student outcomes and learning and teaching benchmarks.

The Academic Director will report to the Deputy CEO and work alongside the Faculty Head (Development, Enterprise and CPD) to further develop the strength, standing and reputation of Faculty One. The Academic Director will be responsible for developing and ensuring the successful implementation of academic strategy, the leadership of academic staff and the enhancement of student learning/teaching experience and outcomes. There will be an emphasis on the oversight of day-to-day learning and teaching operations, as well as leadership of longer-term academic development

The Academic Director will be responsible for strategic leadership and management in the delivery of high-quality learning and teaching on Faculty One programmes.  The role will be central to Metanoia Institute realising its potential for excellence in its portfolio of academic programmes.

Please note, teaching on all modalities (with the exception of Humanistic) takes place across weekends.  Each modality attends for one full weekend each month, over 10 months of the year (a total of 10 teaching weekends).
