Open Evenings

Following our update regarding Coronavirus outbreak(click here for update)

In the light of the Coronavirus outbreak and Government directives, Metanoia Institute had decided to temporarily postpone our regular open evenings/afternoons/mornings. However, due to an increasing number of requests for these to be reinstated, we have decided to begin holding these events online via Zoom.

Wednesday - 22nd April (2.30 - 4.30pm) - FULLY BOOKED
Monday 27th April (1 - 3.00pm) - Online/Zoom- FULLY BOOKED
Thursday 7th May (6.00 - 8.00pm) - Online/Zoom- FULLY BOOKED
Wednesday 8th July(10 - 12am)- Online/Zoom- FULLY BOOKED
Friday 17th July  (2.00 - 4.00pm) - Online/Zoom- FULLY BOOKED

If you have already spoken with one of our staff members and had our different courses and your options explained to you, there will be no need for you to attend an open event. If you have not yet managed to speak to anyone about our courses and would welcome the opportunity to find out more, you will find the open event a useful introduction to the structure of our various courses.  You will gain an understanding of the different philosophies and ideas that the various modalities draw upon and details of how to apply to join a Metanoia Institute programme.

Please note, these open events will only cover our counselling and psychotherapy programmes.

To reserve a place, please use the application form below, you will then be sent details of how to log onto the session.

While you would typically need to attend both a certificate course in therapeutic skills and studies (which we also plan to reinstate online) and an introductory weekend before you can be interviewed for a place on our courses, we are changing this to enable prospective students to proceed with an application. If successful, you will be offered a place on the understanding that you will attend both a certificate course and an introductory course in your chosen modality as soon as we are able to offer these again.

Some of our courses are already full and once all offers for 2020/21 have been made, we will start a waiting list for entry in Sept 2021.

If you know which course you want to apply for, you can do this through our website by clicking on that course and then the APPLY NOW button.

Counselling and psychotherapy are among the fastest growing professions in the country.

You may be thinking of training in the field and wondering what that will involve. You may well have asked yourself questions like ....

  • What’s the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
  • What’s it like being a counsellor or psychotherapist?
  • Would I be good at it?
  • How do I choose a training course?
  • How long will it take?
  • Why do some courses only take weeks, but others, years?
  • What qualifications will I need?
  • How much will it all cost?
  • Are the job prospects good?

We limit the number of attendees to ensure that the experience you have and insights that you gain, are as meaningful as possible. If, by the time you contact us, this limit has been reached, we will naturally offer you a place on a workshop to be held at a later date.
