You can apply for a place using the online application form, which will be situated at the bottom of this page. We ask you to make payment immediately after sending the application form. Places on all workshops are limited and we cannot guarantee a space until we have received your payment.

Tuesday 4th February 2020 - Conducting an Assessment Dr Biljana van Rijn (This counts towards MHFP)
This day will focus on introducing a format and rationale for structuring clinical assessments. It will include assessment of general functioning and risk, using questionnaires, and formulating aims for therapy. Please bring some clinical material for discussion.
Tuesday 18th February 2020 - Use of Clinical Diagnosis in Assessment Dr Biljana van Rijn (This counts towards MHFP)
This day introduces the structure and approach to formal clinical diagnosis using DSM-5. The advantages and disadvantages of diagnosis will be discussed as well as using the therapeutic relationship and transference in diagnosis. Please bring some clinical material for discussion. You will also need access to Moodle, or a copy of the DSM-5
Tuesday 25th February 2020 - Clinical Formulation and Process of Change in Assessment Dr Biljana van Rijn
This day will focus on using your theoretical approach to formulate main themes in the assessment. We will reflect on using theories about the process of change in the assessment process. Please bring some clinical material for discussion.
Tuesday 3rd March 2020- Mental Health Issues in Assessment Dr Biljana van Rijn (This counts towards MHFP)
This day will focus on diagnosis of psychosis, its history and use in clinical assessment. We will also look at different categories of psychotropic medication and the Metal Health Act. Please bring some clinical material for discussion. You will also need access to Moodle, or a copy of the DSM-5.
A foundation certificate is available for those wishing to attend all 4 workshops, and complete a 2000 word essay. Full details available here.
